The vacation couldn't begin better. First we took the boat, Silja Line's M/S Festival, to Turku in Finland. You don't get bored on the ship, there is plenty of activities and good food. Fine music, famous artists and hundreds of dancing passengers - it was a really good start for the trip. On the boat's it's easy to forget the time so late evenings is a fact - it must be the fresh sea-air. Next morning we hit the road in good mood.

The road was frozen and slippery in Turku.Half way to Helsinki, in Salo, it was snostorm so we almost didn't see the road. We was forced to be in Mikkeli before 16 hours to get the key to the cabin. In Helsinki we got lost because the bad weather. After a while we found back to the right way to Lahti. The ride took - from Turku to Mikkeli - about eight hour, the klock was 3pm when we arrived to Visulahti (Mikkeli). |

After the bad weather it was heavenlike to reach our destination - Visulahti, two decimeter of pure white snow everywhere. We new that the place was praktically empty when we reserved the cottage and only the reception would be open. That was fine width oss, we came here to slow down, relax and to enjoy the silence.
And quiet it was, Only a few cabins where occupied. In other words there was plenty of space. The cabin was provided with everything you might need or wish and clean. My wife was very pleased of the TV, phone, a real kitchen, open fireplace and the schower. I was glad over the engine warmer and the car parking by the side of the cottage.

The wether was ideal. - 5 - 15 degree celcius and 15 - 20 cm snow. Every morning the stears outdoors was cleaned from snow. The only "work" that you was forced to do was to bring the wood for the fireplace from the woodstore. Because we like to have fire in the fireplace bringing the firewood was a daily work. |
We can really recommend the place for everyone.
